i was watching a program last night in which Jim Hamm related his experience of being mauled by a mountain lion while hiking at Praire Creek Redwoods State Park in January 2007. The attack was horrific and left him bloodied, battered and scalped. Fighting for his life, his wife tried her best to get the lion to stop even at Jim’s request, poking the animal in the eye with a pen to no avail!
Eventually, she managed to get the lion to leave (you can read more about this fascinating story at the link given at the end of this post) Life-one day you’re walking along and the next you are faced with the totally unexpected. Although nothing can really prepare you for such a horrific incident, we should always remember to “expect the unexpected-so that we are not disappointed.” Expectations often set us up for a fall so let’s prepare for the unplanned event to happen-yes sounds like a paradox, but it really helps us to become better prepared.
Life’s twists and turns can take you on many winding roads as well as some unexpected detours.
Expect the unexpected..
Be like Jim Hamm and keep on winning…
