Don’t jump…BREATHE!

In Uncategorized on August 1, 2009 at 2:53 pm

I’m late / I’m late / For a very important date. / No time to say “Hello.” / Goodbye. / I’m late, I’m late, I’m late.

White rabbit, Alice in Wonderland

Does this sound like us? In fact, there are a large number of people who live like this – always constantly “on the go” they even eat their meals hurriedly, answer their phones during this time and want to move too fast.  If  only we  had a time machine so that we could ask any self-respecting Roman to tell us  “Rome wasn’t built in a day!”

STOP AND BREATHE…!

It is essential to master time management and to actually breathe sometimes. By breathing, i mean really sitting down, taking some time to get organized and to think.  Is it really URGENT? Can it wait a FEW MINUTES?  We are often pleasantly surprised  that WE CAN DELAY THE TASK. Of course, we should complete essential tasks with efficiency, but if we something can wait then we shouldn’t react immediately.

In the “on the go” mode, we affect people around us by the way in which we react and a frosty response only leads to bigger issues. Not only that, but it also has a detrimental effect on us as well. If we continue to live like this we risk burning out. We have all seen those burned-out individuals-they look like something from a George A Romero zombie movie-lifeless, sluggish and weak. Yes, newsflash, these things do play havoc with our body and especially our immune system.

Don’t jump! Take things a little easier and we can be more comfortable with ourselves ; we can also avoid people throwing things at us as well!

Let’s avoid burning out by breathing; take a few moments out to focus on the importance of whatever task we need to perform.

Keep on winning…
